A Southern Fête, the CSOL’s annual fundraiser, was held May 20 at the Charleston Library Society. Guests enjoyed a southern supper with musical entertainment provided by Jessica Minihan White, pianist/vocalist, Aimee Morris, vocalist and Kyle Lane, on trumpet. Michael Mitchell of Mitchell Hill presented highlights from the weekends Symphony Tour of Homes – Historic Charleston held May 21 and 22. The event raised more than $40,000, including $23,000 raised for Fund the Need and $8,000 from Auction items. Jaimie Flack, Event Chair noted, “Since 2000, the CSOL has raised $2.2M including $360,000 to fund music education scholarships. ” Carol Cronk and Marty Penkhus, Co-Presidents shared they presented a check to the CSO at the CSOL membership meeting on May 25 following these events.
