2022-2023 Scholarships

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League supports the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in its mission to provide educational opportunities for the children and youth of our community as well as the musicians of the CSO.

CSO Musician Summer Study Grants totaling up to $5,000 are awarded each year to the members of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.

 

YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS

College Scholarships 

College Scholarships of $2,000 each are available for graduating seniors who plan to major in music performance, therapy, composition, technology or education.

The David and Karen Stahl Memorial College Scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to the highest scoring applicant for a college scholarship.

Matching Grant Awards

Matching Grant Awards of $500 are awarded to members of the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra or Charleston Symphony Youth Strings programs for private lessons during the school year. (The CSOL also provides tuition assistance and private lesson assistance to members of the CSYO/S in financial need. More information is available from the CSYO/S.)

Summer Study Awards 

Summer Study Scholarships of varying amounts up to $1,000 are awarded to students age10 through 11th grade to support participation in summer music camps, festivals or private lessons. The Ruth and Barry Goldsmith award of $500 is awarded to the highest scoring applicant attending a summer festival or camp.
