Several times a year, CSOL volunteers and student scholarship winners join forces to share their love of music with children in the community. Armed with a trumpet, trombone, violin, cello, flute or clarinet, they assist budding musicians with the proper hand positions and show them how to blow into a mouthpiece. The sounds they create are sometimes pleasing, sometimes surprising, and sometimes not much at all. But, later on, this exposure may lead to a lifelong appreciation for music, either as a performer or as a member of the audience. Someday, perhaps one of these young children will be the recipient of a CSOL scholarship, a portion of the $30,000 set aside each year to encourage the next generation of musicians.

We strive to imagine, educate, commit, and participate. We hope you will want to learn more about the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, Inc. and how you can become involved. Help us keep the love of music alive in our community, our schools, and most of all, in our hearts!
