The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League supports the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in its mission to provide educational opportunities for the children and youth of our community as well as the musicians of the CSO.

CSO Musician Summer Study Grants

Up to $5,000 are awarded each year to the members of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.



YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS



The dates for the 2026 Scholarship Auditions for College, Summer Study and Matching Grants will be posted shortly.




College Scholarships

 

$2,500 each are available for graduating seniors who plan to major in music performance, composition, or education.

Matching Grant Awards

 

Awards of $500 are available to members of the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra or Charleston Symphony Sinfonietta programs for private lessons during the school year.  (The CSOL also provides tuition assistance and private lesson assistance to members of the CSYO/S in financial need. More information is available from the CSYO/S.)

The David and Karen Stahl Memorial College Scholarship

 

$5,000 is awarded to the highest scoring applicant for a college scholarship.




Summer Study Scholarships

 

Varying amounts are awarded to students age 10 through 11th grade to support participation in summer music camps, festivals or private lessons.  The Ruth and Barry Goldsmith award of $500 is awarded to the highest scoring applicant attending a summer festival or camp.
